certification in Kundalini Yoga in
Espanola, NM where she completed the Master's Touch course under the direction of Yogi Bhajan, the
Master of Kundalini Yoga.
Since then she has taught in St. Joseph, Missouri; Bainbridge Island, Washington; and currently in
Port Townsend, Washington.
Emmy is currently working on completing her Level II certification.
Emmy grew up in the Catskill Mountain
region of New York State. After earning a BA in Biology, she traveled solo, for more than two years,
around the world spending much time
in Asia. Later, upon settling in the Boston area, she studied the cultures and languages
of China and Japan and returned to both countries several times. She has always had a
life-long love for theatre and spent much of her spare time both on the stage and working
backstage. She studied shiatsu massage and had her own private practice in her Cambridge,
MA apartment for 10 years. For 15 years she worked in the field of epidemiologic
research at the Harvard School of Public Health where she earned an MS degree. Prior
to her 40th birthday, she gave in to a strong desire to connect to the earth in a more
meaningful way and to live a more sustainable lifestyle. She left her job and
began a two-year journey across the United States that finally led her to Port Townsend
where she and her new-found partner Adam began a life as organic farmers. At age
42 she gave birth to her lovely daughter, Aurora in Port Townsend. Emmy is so
pleased to know motherhood through her delightful daughter, finds it hard to recall
those days when she didn't grow her own food, and still dabbles in theatre. She
loves teaching yoga and invites you to attend her class.
